Paper Beads

My first experience with making paper beads (at least recently - I remember making some when I was in elementary or junior high school...) and they turned out pretty nice. I know that I could improve on my first batch, especially by experimenting with what I add to make them sparkly and textury. I made these with rolled paper, then rolled them in UTEE (also my first try with that groovy stuff!) and added silver thread and sheer ribbon to a few. These beads are going out in a paper bead swap for the E.C.

Happy Halloween!

A little pumpkin carving action... And some creative costumes from the party I went to Saturday night. The hosts were the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe...

the pictures are here!!

The wedding photos have arrived! And I'm in LOVE (yes, with my husband, but right now with my photographer, too!). I wish I could post all 400-some that she sent. They are all amazing. She captured every favorite moment and all the little details - and with much artistry and vision. Fantastic. All I want to do is sit and look at them... but I have many projects to do tomorrow, so I better go get some sleep!

Pretty Paper Weaving

Paper weaving is so fun. These are the front and back covers of a deco for Destiny Art Decos.
I really like them.

New Haircut & Color

Last night when I went for a haircut I decided to change things up a little. I've been dying my hair blonde for a long time and each year my roots get darker and darker. So, I had my hairstylist dye it brown, which is probably much closer to my natural color. She put lots of pretty highlights in, too. It looks SO dark to me, but I think I will get used to it soon and enjoy it!

Latest projects

I've been busy making my wedding thank you cards - assembly line style - and now they're ready to go. The hard part will be writing them all. But it is a very small price to pay for all the beautiful gifts we received and the fun we shared with friends and families at the wedding! The card is folded over and a layer of vellum is covering the photograph of us after the ceremony. I stamped "thank you" on the vellum with gold ink.

I'm posting a couple deco pages that I've worked on, as well.

Showered with Love

My photographer just sent me a picture to use on my thank you cards and it brought tears to my eyes. This was one of my very favorite moments from the whole weekend. Everyone that was at the wedding showered us with rose petals as we came out of the church after the ceremony.

The frame was made by a friend of mine - it is one of my favorite (and probably the most creative) gifts that we received. It's on my desk at school, but I might have to bring it home because it makes me start daydreaming whenever I look at it!

First dance & Cake cutting

Here are a couple pictures that Bill's mom took at the wedding. Two of the big wedding reception traditions - the first dance and the cake cutting. Neither one are particularly good shots of us - but there will be many more pictures to come when our photographer finishes editing all the pictures that she took!
