Tree deco pages

Finally had time and energy to make a little art tonight. I worked in two tree decos... Found a couple cool tree photographs that I had taken in Decorah, IA, and a couple interesting tree-related quotes. I wanted to work togther the text and the photos in a cohesive way. I think they turned out pretty well. I'm glad that I added a little paint to each one - makes them look a little more finished and a little more "artsy".

A Fairy Tale Weekend

The wedding has come and gone... and it was everything I wished it to be and more. What a perfect weekend. It will be hard to go back to the real world tomorrow. More details and many more pictures to come, but I thought I would post a picture of the bouquets in a vase on our dining room table. It's a nice reminder of all the beauty that surrounded us in the past 3-4 days.

Last few details

I've been finishing up some of the final details for the wedding this weekend. It took me all day today to finish putting together the programs for the ceremony. They're in a little cardstock folder type thing, that opens to allow a accordian-folded page to open up. I've held them shut with a sheer ribbon tied around the center. I'm happy with how they turned out - unique yet classic.

The other project that kept me busy was stamping a leaf and "W" on all the coffee sleeves. We're using these as part of our favors. The guests will get a little bag of cookies and goodies on their way out of the reception, and cups of hot chocolate or coffee. The sleeves are to go around the coffee cups, to provide a more personalized look (and keep your hands cool!).

I'm still not feeling nervous. A little overwhelmed, maybe. Anxious. Excited. Emotional. But not nervous. I think that will come Saturday afternoon when I have to walk down the aisle - being the center of attention isn't really my favorite thing! There's so much to look forward to - I know that the day will fly by, so I hope I will be able to appreciate every minute. To be honest, I'm also looking forward to not having to worry about wedding details anymore once this week is over!

Practice Hair-Do

Last weekend there was more wedding fun in store for me in Des Moines. I had my "practice" hairstyle and make-up, then went for my first fitting for my dress. Luckily I was totally pleased with everything, including the fact that my dress fit perfectly and I only have to pay to have the bustle done. I picked out beads that match my dress and decorated the barrette for my hair.
Tonight I'm going to be talking to my photographer about all the details. She's a family friend and I'm SO thrilled that she'll be taking the pictures at our wedding. Check out her stuff - www.redribbonstudio.com - it's fantastic!

Wedding Shower

The baby shower did turn out to be a surprise wedding shower and it was wonderful! My sister and mom decorated a hotel room in a "princess" theme and all my aunts and lots of friends were there. Jenny had her little 9-day-old boy Owen along for the surprise. It was a little uncomfortable to be the center of attention, and to open gifts in front of people like that, but it was nice to have the baby there to take some of the attention off of me. They had some fun games planned, including a video taped interview of Bill answering questions so that I could play a newlywed-style game.
I made some flip-open thank you cards to send off to the attendees this week.
