- I passed my 3 hour Glucola test (thankfully) and the fasting/blood drawing wasn't even as bad as I built it up to be.
- While I was waiting between blood draws I watched Waitress on my iPhone. So sweet and funny and endearing - kinda like Juno. Definitely helped pass the time, although all the delicious-looking pies did not help me with the fasting part!
- Finished my first month of Project 365 - a daily photo.
- Yael Naim's album - especially the New Soul song from the Mac Air ad.
- beads, yarn, and chocolate indulgence with Wendy this afternoon.
- finally getting around to ordering shades for the nursery windows
- fresh banana muffins
- new Lost

Celebrating...
making me happy today...
Monday, January 28, 2008
so, it wasn't the best day today...
Had to go for my 1 hr. gestational diabetes test this morning and found out I did not pass it, so I have to go back later this week for a 3 hr. test. Right now I'm just dreading the repeated blood draws at the test, but if it turns out I really have this, it will definitely be rough. ugh. And I still have the winter yuck head cold. whine, whine, whine.
Silver linings - baby's heartbeat is strong and healthy. I was able to go get a fresh haircut this afternoon. And I cheered myself up with a little sushi for dinner and some retail therapy. Oh, and I added another fab. pair of earrings to our shop.

Operations 2 & 3
Tonight I finally got around to getting my pages done for Elise's weekly challenges. These are the fronts and I wrote a little more about both on the backsides (on flickr). Operation 02 was inspired by a Van Gogh quote and got us thinking about what we want the "souvenir" of our lives to be. Operation 03 was "next" and could be applied to anything in the future - this week I've been thinking alot about learning more about getting ready for the baby's birth and what choices are right for us.
This week I got the SIS "rainbow sushi" paper collection in the mail. It is super duper cute, so I also made a layout with my pregnancy test photo, and a little fold-up journaling tab.

So - the last week flew by! Spent the weekend with mom, who was very generous to come over and help with some sanding and painting projects I've had on my list for awhile. Of course, we managed to get some shopping in, too - which was super fun. On Sunday I went to my first murder mystery party at Rachel's wedding shower. It was fun, but complicated! And the theme was "chocolate", of course you can't go wrong there.
I've really been enjoying thinking about and taking a photo every day for the Project 365 challenge so far, and it has renewed my love for Flickr - so much inspiration there (see some recent favorites above).

life in color
Definitely enjoying the "color accent" feature on my camera now that I've figured out. Not much to report - working and trying to get organized around the house so I can move on to the fun stuff of decorating the nursery and a few other crafty projects I have on the agenda.
Otherwise, in internet world I have been most definitely inspired by:
Paper Adventure: Operation 02 - I'm going to have to think on this one a little bit...
This amazing quilt
Donna's scrapbooking time lapse
the new Scrapjacked pages
my latest etsy favorite seller: Badbird
have a good one, all...

last day of vacation
I found another cool monthly scrapbooking/photography challenge if you're up for it: Overlooked
and I updated my links on the right to include all these fun challenges and some other blogish fun for you.
I've thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the holidays, working a little, scrapbooking a little, and overall being a big bum over break - but looking forward to getting back to the little cutie pies at school tomorrow!
(above - day 2 of my Project 365 photos - love my new Canon Powershot S5)

Happy New Year!
Time for some resolutions!
Scrapbooking/Art:
Take a photo everyday
Create a page once a week with Elise
Make & send more Birthday cards
Health:
Eat more vegetables
Make a meal from scratch at least 3 times a week (still working on this one from last year)
Start doing more yoga at home
Walk more
Misc:
Pick up after myself (read: fewer piles)
Listen to all my music more often
Well, I think that should be enough to keep me busy!
Wishing you all the happiest and healthiest 2008!
